Here are a few instructions on how to use a coffee machine:
- Add a coffee filter in the filter basket. Becareful when choosing your filter paper, cheap generic ones may clog the grains.
- Measure out the coffee grounds. The usual ratio is 2 tablespoons for every 6 ounces of water that you plan to brew. Double check this ratio with your coffee maker manual to be sure. You can also experiment with these ratios to find the perfect one for you.
- Measure out the water, according to the amount of coffee grounds you used. You can either use the lines on the coffee pot or the side of the coffee maker. Pour the water into the coffee maker. For first-time coffee maker users, it may be tempting to pour the water into the filter basket. Do not do this. Pour into the compartment behind the filter basket. Put the coffee pot back on the warming plate.
- Plug in the coffee maker and turn it on. Some coffee makers automatically brews the coffee and some have an adjustable timer.
- Wait until the coffee is perfectly brewed before consuming.
- Immediately toss the paper coffee filter away. The late removal of coffee grounds can make the coffee inside the pot too bitter.
